Leon visited the Safety Lab to test new protections and check his fitting data for gloves and leather just before the second weekend of WSBK action.
Before he left, we had a chance to submit him three quick questions about this focal moment in his career, here is how it went down:
Spidi: “Did you expect to be so fast on a new bike?”
Leon: “I was hoping the factory team and Suzuki would give me the difference to win races and at the minute it has. Consistency will be the key to really get a shot at the title though. So, at this point it’s still early but we’ll work hard for sure."
Spidi: “Bike-wise, what's the most notable difference from last year?”
Leon: "The biggest difference is the work on data and team as this year everything seems to be possible. They work very hard and so far I’m really enjoying the work with these guys."
Spidi: “Portimao is approaching, hopes and fears?”
Leon: "For Portugal I hope to continue this form and to win more races...I need to be consistent and, you know, now pressure and expectations are becoming a factor so for me it’s crucial to be fast from the first practice lap and build confidence from the get go."
(by the way: in this pic you can see Leon wearing his favourite off track Spidi jacket)
